Private Park

We have gotten word that there is a rumor floating around that we are going to be voting on making the park a public park. This is not true. The parks will stay private. Open only to Aspen Meadows residents and guests.

Benches!

Parks!

Many of you may have noticed that park two has (finally) been hydroseeded! We are very excited to see grass growing there. Please please please keep out of the park until the grass is established!! Park two is closed until that time.

If you live next two park 2 or if you have been watching you have probably noticed the sprinklers going a lot there. While the seed is just starting to grow it needs a lot of water. We want to make sure the grass comes in well.

Speaking of parks....we want to remind everyone that HOA rules and city laws set quiet hours! There has been a lot of noise in the parks after dark. For the parks, quiet hours begin at dusk. For the rest of the neighbourhood quiet hours begin at 10 pm. Please be courteous to your neighbours and keep the noise down after these times.

Keep sidewalks clear!

Just a reminder: when you, or a guest of yours, parks a car it is important that you don't block the side-walk. If you are parking in your driveway you need to be pulled forward enough that the side-walks are completely clear.

If you are on the side of the road it is harder to block the sidewalks, but still possible. Make sure you aren't parked in front of anyone else's driveway, or any other vehicle entrance. Also, if you have a trailer, please pay attention to that, too. Don't let it hang over the side-walk, or even on the side-walk.

Our side-walks are for people to walk on, not for cars. Thank you!

Keep The Parks Nice

Remember, as a member of the HOA, the parks are partly your responsibility. Do your part to keep them clean and nice. Please don't litter in the parks. Any trash you bring in, you should take out. Also, if you see any trash, or maybe a weed in the playground, go ahead and pick it up and throw it away. It is by everyone pitching in and doing a little bit that we can keep our parks and our neighborhood looking good.

Volleyball Time!

As you may or may not have noticed, the volleyball court is just about done! It is in a usable state now! The weeds and grass have been removed. We will still want more sand put in, but it is ready to be used. We hope to see some fun volleyball games going on before too long.

Also, it was great to see people using the park and pavilion over the holiday weekend. That is what they are there for, so go ahead and use them. Just make sure to clean up after yourself.

Water Reminder

It sure has been a rainy month! It has been great for the park and our lawns. With the summer months coming, we did want to remind you about some water etiquette:

First, when it is raining, please turn off your sprinklers. The rain will do a good enough job on its own of watering your lawn.

Second, you only need to water an established lawn about three times a week according to the Utah Division of Water Resources.

Third, it is best to not water your lawn in the heat of the day -- between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM. During these hours a lot of the water simply evaporates, leaving your lawn still thirsty and our water bills higher.

If you have questions about water conservation I recommend the Utah Division of Water Resources webpage. They also include a page specifically about conserving water in your home. It is a quick and easy reference. These websites are great resources and we highly encourage that you look at them.

Please be a courteous neighbor, and do your part to conserve water. When someone abuses their water privileges we all pay for it.

Things are happening!

You all may have noticed that work is slowly happening on the parks! We have most of the volleyball pit in park one finished. It should hopefully be done before the end of the week. In park one, the benches are about ready. We are waiting for some replacement parts, then we will get those up ASAP.

Park two is ready for play ground equipment, and then it will be seeded.

We remind you all to be polite and considerate to the landscapers, etc. while they are here working on our parks. Also, please don't abuse the equipment once it is in place. If you have children, please make sure they use the equipment properly, so it will last. Thank you for your patience as we have tried to get the parks done!

Work is finally happening in the parks!

Well everyone, it looks like work on the parks is finally going to happen again! The park benches are supposed to be here tomorrow, and should be installed really soon. Weeds in park two should be sprayed and dying today, and the horseshoe pit and volleyball courts in park one should be finished this week!

We are really excited to get these done, as we know all of you are. We remind you to please be courteous to the workers as they work on our parks. It looks like things are finally starting to happen, we are excited!
